With a view to improve the monitoring of aerosol microphysical and radiative properties , IMD has established an Aerosol Monitoring Network presently with 20 Sun-sky Radiometer.

IMD also has established a Central Data Processing System (CDPS) at EMRC HQ New Delhi. The CDPS will have two workstations servers to perform various tasks such as: Diagnosis, Troubleshooting and Network Management, Aerosol Data Processing and Analysis and Archival of data.

India Meteorological Department (IMD) has established 12 Nos. of Prede Inc., Japan make, Model POM-02 Skyradiometer during June, 2011 and 8 Nos. of POM-01 Model Skyradiometer during 2017. Skyradiometer Model POM-02 and POM-01 of Prede Co. Ltd, Japan make are used in Skynet-India. All the data from 12+8 observatories is received in the Central Data Processing System (CDPS) at EMRC, New Delhi for visualization and analysis.
